Here in Surrey, it flowers for most of the autumn. Wonderful for both honey and bummble bees, it also attracts the lovely humming-bird hawk moth.

Lovely little onion, easy, hardy and prolific. Quite small, so best appreciated in the safety of a pot,
(reticulata x saluenensis) Blooms up to 12 cm across over a long period - January to May in a mild winter.
This is a half-hardy shrub growing 1.5m tall with a spread of 3 metres in my garden. It responds to trimming at the expense of blooms. Bright blue flowers, August until frosts here in Surrey.
Self-fertile quince tree, growing to about 4 metres. Pretty pale-pink blossom in spring, abundant pear-shaped fruit in autumn. These are neither as sour or as hard as the Japanese quince but are full of pectin and good for making preserves.
