We created a garden from scratch, 26 years ago, previously a Bramley apple orchard, when we bought the land and designed and built our family home. It is a large open garden with mixed borders, herbaceous colour themed borders, wild flower garden and established trees, including one of the original Bramley trees which is over a hundred years old.
Richard is a horticulturist and currently works as a qualifications consultant for the Royal Horticultural Society. His passion is cacti and succulents and has a collection of over 300 types in three glasshouses.
The courtyard with water feature is an ideal location to display succulents in the summer for a tropical feel, along with some specimen hostas.
The garden is open to the public in June each year as part of the Wisbech St Mary Open Gardens and also offers cacti photographic days.
