After 35 years in one medium sized garden (about 2x 250 sq m) I am now in 90 + 40 sq m of a new build with waterlogged clay, below more clay!.
I have decided to try a new direction with a more modern design, set out for ease of use in retirement.
2018 the hard landscaping is now done and a mix of grasses and perennials for half the front gravel area are planted. The raised beds in the rear garden are planted up with half permanent and half annuals to brighten the view.
A small ean to greenhouse has been built to over wnter my citrus plans and start things off for 2019
2019 Grasses and perennials brought on in the greenhouse for the remaining gravel areas.
Experimenting with a heated mist propagator for cuttings to make plants for a hedge. Room for 80 cuttings so lots of experimental hardwood and softwood cuttings in progress.
"Prairie planting" grasses and perennials - I'm trying to see if I can make it work in a small space.
