My garden is pretty large for a 3 bedroom house, so I have plenty of room to experiment at the moment! I mainly try to garden for wildlife (I'm helped by the 200 yr old oak in the from garden!), and look for plants that will provide nectar for bees, moths and butterflies, food for caterpillars or food for birds. Sometimes an experiment goes too well and I end up with excess plants, sometimes I have a little help from the squirrels (small oak seedlings anyone?!) and sometimes my mother-in-law gives me more cuttings than I can fit in my garden!
Hardy plants, for partial shade/full shade, lime clay soil, perennials preferred, wildlife/pollinator friendly (no double blooms).
