Sedum telephium ‘Purple Emperor’ (Ice Plant 'Purple Emperor'). This is a sedum with broad, deep purple leaves on dark red stems, and rounded clusters of small, pale lilac flowers, which arrive in late summer.
This plant can be given the 'Chelsea chop' in late May to produce a more compact form. May need staking.
Grown for their foliage and for their flowers, which are attractive to bees and other beneficial insects. Attractive seed heads in winter.
