Buddleja davidii ‘Royal Red’ (Butterfly bush). This vigorous shrub has long, pointed, dark green leaves with white-felt undersides. In mid-summer to autumn, there are plumes of fragrant, deep purple-red flowers.
They are fully to half hardy, and will require full sun with fertile well drained soil. Suitable for a mixed or shrub border, they are generally easy to grow. Prune hard in winter to control shape.
