Description

Pinus edulis (Pinon nut pine). A is a small slow growing pine, The 2 sheath needles are about an 1in long and dark green. The cones are about 2 inches and roundish. It will tolerate coastal, dry and hot areas.

Cultivation

They will grow in a wide range of conditions, they are wind resistant and will thrive on soils of moderate to low fertility which are well drained , you can propagate from seeds or grafting.

Interest and use

Many species have ornamental fruit. Suitable for coastal conditions.
