helena (red shades)
Helenium autumnale (Sneezeweed). This species is grown for its bold colours and profuse flowering habit. The sturdy branching plants produce hundreds of small brightly coloured blooms. It may bloom prolifically when many other perennials have faded. They are produced in many different shades and colours. You can divide the clumps after the third year of growth. Seeds may be collected and sown, but cultivars will not come true from such seeds.
Dead-head to prolong flowering. Divide every 2-3 years to maintain vigour.
