This grower is sure of this plant identification.
A native large shrub, Crataegus monogyna has white flowers in late spring, followed by clusters of bright red fruit in autumn that are popular with wildlife. The branches are covered with sharp thorns, which make it ideal for use in a barrier hedge.
Supplied bare root - not in containers.
Size: Bundles of 50 bare root plants, (approx 60 - 100 cm tall).
Available late November to February.

Crataegus monogyna (Singleseed hawthorn). This species of hawthorn is considered to be the toughest of the flowering trees. They will produce fragrant single white flowers which will open in late spring. The leaves have 5 to 7 jagged lobes, they are about 2inches long and will turn yellow-brown in the autumn. They will thrive in adverse situations. The fruits are small reddish and hard to see.
Watch out for the thorns.
Banks, hedging, specimen. Suitable for coastal conditions.
