This grower is sure of this plant identification.
Native to eastern China, Acer buergerianum has glossy green, 3-lobed leaves leaves which turn brilliant shades of yellow, orange and red late in autumn. A handsome tree and excellent choice for planting in a garden or a street tree as it tolerates air pollution and dry soil conditions.
It is also often used for Bonsai as it responds very well to pruning.

Trident maple, Three-toothed maple
Acer buergerianum (Trident maple). This species has pale brown bark, the leaves are small with three lobes, and bright glossy green in summer. They turn beautiful shades of red and orange in the autumn. Peeling bark develops on mature trunks.
This species can grow in exposed sites and they will tolerate poor soils.
Ornamental, autumn interest. A common subject for bonsai.
