This grower is sure of this plant identification.
A popular maple ideal for small gardens grown for its deeply divided, rich purple-red leaves and dome-like habit. The garnet-coloured leaves hold colour well in spring/summer and turn pleasing shades of yellow and orange in autumn before falling.
The low rounded habit makes this Acer particularly suitable for growing in a large tub and eye-catching as part of a low border or next to water.
Supplied Size: 3L containers (30 - 40 cm tall)

Japanese maple 'Garnet', Blood-leaf Japanese maple, Coral-bark maple, Maple
Acer palmatum ‘Garnet’ (Japanese maple 'Garnet'). This is a medium sized shrub with deeply dissected lobed leaves, often with seven lobes per leaf. The colour is brown-red through the summer, becoming more crimson in the autumn. Burgundy flowers are produced in the spring, which turn into bright red winged fruit.
It will prefer warmer climates than most other maples. It will need shade and shelter or the leaves may shrivel.
Grown for its habit and foliage.
