Japanese maple, Maple
Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ (Japanese maple). This is a large, rounded shrub producing large, deeply cut, seven-lobed dark green leaves, which turn bright red and orange in the autumn. Small red flowers arrive in mid spring, turning into small red winged fruit in the autumn.
It will prefer warmer climates than most other maples. It will need shade and shelter or the leaves may shrivel.
