Amelanchier x grandiflora ‘Robin Hill’

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A superb and reliable small garden tree, it has has clusters of pink buds which open into pretty pale pink flowers in spring. These fade to white before falling and on an established tree are followed by edible berries in June - August.

The young leaves emerge bronze, darkening to lush green in late spring/summer. In autumn they turn vivid shades of orange/deep-red before falling.

Note: This tree is very ornamental and gives interest from spring until autumn each year. It is also more vigorous than other Amelanchiers.

Description

Amelanchier x grandiflora ‘Robin Hill’. This vigorous Amelanchier has blush-pink flowers from pink buds at the same time as bronze young leaves. The blooms fade to white as they age and edible attractive berries are formed. Mid-green leaves in summer change to copper-orange and red in the autumn.

Cultivation

Autumn colours are more intense in slightly acid soils.
