Lovely pink-stemmed Chinese birch which is slow growing and suitable for gardens with limited space. The bark is bronze/brown on young trees, gradually peeling and becoming more colourful after 3-4 years. Leaves are dark green turning shades of yellow in autumn.

Suitable for borders, woodland areas or as a standalone specimen.

Betula albosinensis ‘China Ruby’. This slow-growing birch has multi-coloured peeling bark in shades of copper, pink and cream. The dark green leaves turn golden yellow in the autumn.


They are fully hardy. You will need to plant in a sunny position in any moist and well drained soil; some species will prefer acidic soil. The young trees should be transplanted in the autumn.
