This grower is sure of this plant identification.

An elegant, rare tree native to parts of China, Korea and Japan, Carpinus cordata has large deeply veined, bright green leaves which show some attractive autumn colours in a good year. Once established it will have large catkins and attractive, fluted, silver-grey bark. Quite densely-branched, it can make a good, ornamental screening tree.
