Catalpa × erubescens ‘Purpurea’

For sale by Bluebell Nursery

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

An uncommon flowering tree with large, chocolate-purple young leaves that turn dark green as they age. 'Purpurea' flowers freely even as a young plant, with masses of creamy white flowers, flecked yellow and dark brown in late summer.

After a hot summer, long hanging seed pods appear which can stay on the tree long after leaves fall.

Supplied Size: 5L containers (40 - 60 cm tall)
