An ornamental plant native to eastern Asia, Chaenomeles speciosa 'Apple Blossom' has lush, dark green leaves and in late winter or early spring, masses of lovely white flowers with a pink flush.

The sensational display of flowers, lasting for several weeks early in the year more then makes up for this and Chaenomeles is a worthy addition to a flowering border in nearly any garden!

Description

Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Moerloosii’ (Ornamental quince). Moerloosii blooms are white flushed and blotched pink and carmine.

Cultivation

They are fully hardy and will prefer a sunny position and well drained soil. On wall-trained shrubs cut back side-shoots after flowering to 2 or 3 buds and shorten shoots growing away from wall during growing season.
