This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A slow growing species from Asia Minor and Syria, Crataegus tanacetifolia is an almost thornless, mop-headed small tree with downy, silver-grey, dandelion-like leaves which nicely set off the creamy-white, lightly fragrant flowers in June.

The flowers form yellowy red, marble-sized, edible fruits which last long into winter. These have a sweet apple-like flavour suitable for pies, preserves, etc.
