This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A lovely, evergreen hybrid, Eucryphia x intermedia 'Rostrevor' has elegant branches covered with masses of large, white flowers in late summer. The leaves are glossy, dark green with a greyish underside.

The flowers stand out well against the dark leaves and makes Eucryphia x intermedia 'Rostrevor' a very handsome evergreen garden tree!

Position: Sheltered in full sun or partial shade.
Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Eucryphia x intermedia 'Rostrevor' requires a warm position and shelter from cold winter winds.

Habit: A large shrub in the short term, eventually Eucryphia x intermedia 'Rostrevor' grows to be a small tree with a branching, rounded crown once fully established.

Description

Eucryphia × intermedia ‘Rostrevor’ (Brush bush). This upright, evergreen tree has oblong leaves which grow up to 6cm long, either simple or with up to 3 leaflets, glossy, dark green above, pale green and sometimes slightly glaucous beneath, with red shoots. It produces shallowly cup-shaped white flowers, from late summer to autumn.

Cultivation

Position in all but mild, wet areas, where it will withstand more exposure. Does best with roots in a cool, moist, shaded position and crown in sun.

Interest and use

Grown for their foliage and often fragrant, white flowers.
