Gold lace cactus
Mammillaria elongata (Gold lace cactus). This is a cylindrical yellow-spined cactus from Mexico, it will produce numerous finger-like stems which grow out from the base in varying thicknesses. The flowers are small and light yellow they bloom in the spring and autumn. They are followed by very elongated small red fruit.
They are frost-tender cacti's they require full sun for maximum flowering. They are easy to grow, and prefer light, sandy soil. You can propagate from seeds in the spring and summer, or from offsets in summer.
Grown for their funnel-shaped flowers.
