This grower is sure of this plant identification.

An attractive variegated holly, propagated by ourselves from an unusual sport found on a holly hedge in the local village of Blackfordby and named after our cheerful Doberman 'Calypso'.

Ilex aquifolium 'Calypso' has dark stems and handsome, green and gold-splashed leaves and is particularly good at adding some colour to a winter garden.

Supplied Size: 3L container (25 - 30 cm tall, young plants)

Common names



Ilex aquifolium ‘Calypso’ (Holly). This Holly has dark stems and green and gold-splashed foliage.


Grow in sun or shade, but deciduous plants and those with variegated foliage do best in sun or semi-shade. Hollies dislike being transplanted, but respond well to hard pruning and pollarding, which should be carried out in late spring. Watch out for the spines.
