Round-leaved saxifrage, Saxifrage
Saxifraga rotundifolia (Round-leaved saxifrage). This species grows from a stout rhizome and will form a loose clump of open rosettes of scalloped roundish leaves. The flowers are produced on sparsely leafed stems which are about 25cm tall.
The soil conditions and position of light will depend on the species, They will also vary in hardiness from fully to frost hardy to marginally frost hardy. You can propagate from seeds in the autumn, by division or from rooted offsets in winter.
Grown for their flowers and attractive foliage. Excellent in rock gardens, screens, raised beds and alpine houses.
