Aster laevis ‘White Climax’ (New England aster). This is a large genus which is native to temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. They are perennials and deciduous or evergreen sub-shrubs of various heights and colours with daisy like flower heads, all with central yellow or black discs borne in the summer and autumn.
They are fully to half hardy and will prefer sun or partial shade with fertile, well drained soil, with adequate moisture throughout the summer. Tall species and cultivars require staking.
