This grower is sure of this plant identification.
Pineapple sage - pineapple scented leaves, and really vivid red flowers, not like photo (website picked a photo of the wrong species)! 2 smaller pots each contain 3 plants, which were cuttings from the mother plant in the big pot. Big pot is a 34cm diameter bell pot (terracotta colour plastic), small pot is just a plain black 3L pot. One small pot was indoors for the worst of winter, plants are much happier looking than in the other small pot or the big pot.

Salvia elegans (Pineapple sage). This is a perennial herb, which will produce beautiful light green foliage and red-purple flowers.
Some species will tolerate only light frosts, but some of the perennials are more frost-hardy. They will grow well when planted in full sun in well drained light soil with adequate watering in the summer.
Border, fragrance, culinary. Attracts humming birds in suitable geographical locations.
