A popular medium sized shrub, Magnolia stellata 'Rosea King' has masses of pale pink, starry flowers in April / May even as a young plant. The slow-growing, densely branching habit makes this Magnolia very suitable for gardens with limited space, or even for being grown in a large container.

Description

Magnolia stellata ‘Rosea’ (Star magnolia). This is a dense large shrub or small tree, it is grown for its deep green foliage and elegant white fragrant flowers, which are large and star-shaped and which will appear in late winter to early spring.

Cultivation

They will require deep, fertile, well-drained mildly acidic soil. They thrive in sun or partial-shade but need protection from strong or salty winds. It will grow poorly in hot, dry windy areas.
