Malus prunifolia

For sale by Bluebell Nursery

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A handsome yet often overlooked small tree, Malus prunifolia from N.E. Asia is known for its masses of very attractive white flowers in spring. Flowers are rose-crimson while in bud, opening to white flushed with pink. These are followed by plentiful small, bright red fruit in autumn.

The sheer quantity of sharp-tasting fruit attracts much wildlife to the garden.
