Fantastic balsam scent when in full sun and in the summer. Small yellow flowers in the summer on adult plants
Aeonium balsamiferum. This species is a perennial succulent with thick branches. The rosettes are formed of overlapping spoon-shaped, pale green leaves which are about 7cm long. In late spring, the star-like yellow flowers are held in panicles which are 15cm long. These have a basalm-like fragrance, hence the species name 'balsamiferum'.
They are frost tender. When choosing their outdoor position (in temperate zones) make sure it is sheltered and receives full sun.
Grown for their form, foliage and flowers. Good container plants.
