This grower is sure of this plant identification.

Nyssa sylvatica is a small or medium, broadly columnar tree from N. America and Canada grown for its fantastic autumn colour. The dark green leaves turn vivid shades of yellow, orange or red before falling.

Although hardy, Nyssa sylvatica prefers shelter from strong winds. It grows in pH neutral soils, but the best autumn colour will be seen on trees planted in acid or lime free soil.
