A beautiful evergreen plant, native to W. China, Osmanthus delavayi has small, glossy, dark-green leaves and clusters of fragrant, jasmine-like, white flowers in late spring. These flowers stand out well against the darker foliage.

A delightful garden shrub best planted where the fragrance can be appreciated in spring.

Supplied Size: 3L containers (two to three year old plants, 40 - 60 cm tall)

Notes: We have a specimen of Osmanthus delavayi, planted in the woodland garden surrounding our nursery. At 8 years old, it had reached a height of 2 m and a spread of 1.5 m.

Osmanthus delavayi. This is an evergreen shrub with dark green leaves which are very fragrant, the flowers are trumpet-shaped with white spring blooms they are held in dense clusters.


You should plant in rich, well-drained soil in a sheltered position in either sun or partial-shade.
