This grower is sure of this plant identification.

An unusual oak with silvery young leaves native to a large area from S.E. Italy to W. Asia. Quercus ithaburensis subsp macrolepis 'Hemelrijk Silver' is a cultivar with lovely large, silvery-grey leaves. The new leaves are particularly colourful, while the older leaves turn deep grey green as they age.

A handsome small garden tree which, when established, has wide, ornamental acorns.

Supplied Size: 2L deep containers (15 - 30 cm tall)

Cultivation

They are fully to frost hardy, and grow in sun or semi-shade in deep, well drained soil.

Grown for foliage interest, and as a specimen tree.
