A hybrid between Quercus palustris and Quercus rubra, this oak has very large, deeply lobed leaves and particularly vivid red and orange autumn colour. An unusual garden tree for autumn colour!

Grower Notes

Position: Full sun.
Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. The autumn colour of Quercus x richteri is somewhat dependant upon the soil pH and the foliage will produce a better, stronger autumn colour in more acidic soils.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
Habit: Large tree with a reasonably narrow crown once established.
Height: 25 m (82 ft)
Spread: 15 m (50 ft)
