Rhamnus frangula ‘Asplenifolia’

For sale by Bluebell Nursery

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

A fantastic foliage plant, Rhamnus frangula 'Asplenifolia' has fine leaves, similar to some daintier Acer palmatum cultivars from a distance. Bright green in spring/summer they turn bronze-yellow in autumn before falling to expose an attractive, pale-grey bark with eye-catching lenticels in winter.

An unusual, fine native alder buckthorn that also attracts brimstone butterflies.
