Popular evergreen shrub from W. China, Sarcococca confusa has glossy, dark-green leaves and masses of fragrant, cream-coloured flowers in mid-winter. The exceptionally well scented flowering twigs can be used in indoor arrangements.

Suitable for even the smallest of gardens, it is a great choice for areas where the fragrance can be appreciated. Also grows well in a large container or pot.

Description

Sarcococca confusa. This is a dense species with basal green branches, which will grow slowly to about 1.8m tall, They will bear smooth, shiny dark green leaves. The small white flowers are produced in clusters along the stems in early winter. Shiny black berries will follow.

Cultivation

They grow well in a cool, moist climate with well-drained soil.
