This grower is sure of this plant identification.

This attractive Lilac was originally raised in Canada and has huge clusters of fragrant, pale lavender-pink, flowers in May-June. When established Syringa x josiflexa 'Bellicent' makes a very handsome plant and is covered in flowers from the top down to the ground! The leaves are pale green, broad and oval.

A delightful shrub, well suited to planting at the back of a border or as a standalone.

Common names



Syringa ‘Bellicent’ (Lilac). A deciduous, upright then arching shrub with panicles of fragrant, tubular, single, pink flowers in late spring and early summer. Leaves are oval and dark green.


They are fully hardy and will need full sun with deep fertile, well drained, preferably alkaline soil in sun or light shade.

Grown for their dense panicles of fragrant, small, tubular, bee and butterfly attracting flowers.
