A wild flower native to North America, Lysimachia ciliata 'Firecracker' has yellow flowers, slender stalks and rich, dark purple leaves. The dark foliage is complimented by masses of handsome, clear-yellow flowers which appear in the summer months.

An excellent plant for growing near ponds, streams or in damp yet reasonably drained areas.

Lysimachia ciliata ‘Firecracker’ (Loosestrife). This genus consists of mainly evergreen perennials and shrubs there are about 150 species, the flowers are tall spike-like racemes of crowded blooms. The 5-petalled flowers are mostly yellow or white.

Cultivation

They will prefer a slightly acidic soil with a good mix of organic matter. They need full sun to partial-shade.
