This grower is sure of this plant identification.
I bought tuber of this plant thinking it will be single but turned out it is double. On a package is clearly a picture of Mexican Single Tuberose, package brand is 'Taylors Bulbs' and is named "3 POLYANTHES TUBEROSA". I would be very happy to swap one big bulb (which flowered once) of this double Polianthes for any (tiny bulb, bigger one or large) of true Mexican Single Tuberose (Polianthes). Mexican Single Tuberose is hard to obtain in UK though plenty sellers in US.
Polianthes tuberosa (Tuberose). This is a summer flowering bulb. The funnel-shaped flowers are creamy white and have a rich fragrance. They are available in single or double blooming varieties. The flowers are long-lasting and the plants are easy to grow in rich, humus-rich soil that is kept moist. They prefer a sunny spot and should be planted in the spring, about 2 inches deep.
They will grow in well-drained garden soil with adequate moisture during the summer.
