Rubidor has gold leaves and red summer flowers
Weigela ‘Briant Rubidor’ (Weigela). This is also known as Weigela 'Olympiade'. This is a spreading shrub with oval leaves which are green-yellow when growing, then becoming bright yellow. Bell-shaped, dark red flowers appear in late spring and early summer.
They are fully to frost hardy, they will prefer full sun or light shade in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. To maintain vigour, prune out a few older branches to ground level, after flowering each year. Straggly, old plants may be pruned hard in spring (though this will lose one season's flowers).
Grown for their showy, funnel-shaped, bee attracting flowers.
