Lovely blue tardiana variety. Has pointed blue leaves with good veining and a slight wave to them. Petioles tinted lavender. Good pot or border variety, similar size and vigour, in my experience, to Hosta Halcyon, and makes an interesting alternative. Our plants are originator stock, directly descended from the original Eric Smith seedling.
Plantain Lily 'Kingfisher'
Hosta Kingfisher (Tardiana Group) (Plantain Lily 'Kingfisher'). This Hosta has pointed, slightly rippled, cordate, mid green leaves which fade to grey-blue as they mature. The leaf stalks are tinged purple. Mid lavender, funnel shaped flowers are produced in August.
These plants like cool, moist, shaded conditions. Protect from slugs and snails early in the season.
Grown mainly as a foliage plant.
