Alchemilla mollis

To swap with Nick

This grower is sure of this plant identification.

I have a few of these that have self-seeded around the garden, I realise they're pretty common but it's a great foliage plant particularly at this time of year and will grow happily in most conditions.

Alchemilla mollis (Lady's mantle). This is the most widely cultivated species. It is a low-growing, clump-forming perennial with soft grey-green, fan-shaped foliage. Sprays of tiny pale yellow flowers are produced in the summer.

These plants will often self-sow and you should remove the flowers before they set seed, if this becomes a problem.

I'd be interested in swapping hardy perennials, shrubs, grasses and ground cover for some of our more awkward sloping spaces. Happy to come and dig-out larger donations if you have unwanted shrubs. At the moment we have many fairly young specimens and lots of empty space, so am mainly relying on donations and vigorous growth to fill the gaps...
