Allium schoenoprasum (Chives). This is a hardy perennial bulb with narrowly cylindrical leaves and small rounded umbels of purple bell-shaped flowers which fade to pale purple.
Easy to grow in any well drained, loamy soil with full sun. When the plants become leggy, trim the hollow, grass-like leaves to renew the planting. Deadhead the fading flowers to promote further blooming.
