Eryngium alpinum ‘Superbum’ (Bluetop sea holly). Has spikes of large dark blue flowers in early summer and green leaves tinged blue.


They will tolerate poor dry soil and salt spray. This species is more tolerant of shade and heavy soils with full sun.

Interest and use

Walls, rock garden, border, wildflower/meadow, dried arrangements. Summer interest. Suitable for coastal conditions.
