We are offerring 4 large and 4 smaller clumps of montbretia. See the first picture for the flower head. These have been lifted from a thick border of montbretia some have other plant material - one contains a golden rod.

Montbretia

Description

Crocosmia genus (Montbretia). This plant is from south African. It will form a dense clumps of sword-shaped leaves. Above the leaves you will find horizontal spikes of attractive tubular flowers which are borne in the summer.

Cultivation

They are frost hardy and will require well drained soil with an open sunny site. In very cold areas, you should plant in a sheltered position or lift and store for the winter.

Interest and use

Grown for their brightly coloured flowers produced mainly in summer. Suitable for coastal conditions.
