A delightful late flowering clematis which carries on producing flowers through to early autumn, ideal for extending the gardening season. Vigorous twining stems grow quickly to considerable length. Dainty white flowers, tinged with green appear in profusion and garland the stems. Perfect to grow through a large shrub and especially effective for adding interest to evergreens.
Clematis viticella ‘Alba Luxurians’. A variety of slightly grey-green foliage. From midsummer to late autumn, it bears open bell-shaped, single flowers, with 4-6 green-tipped white sepals, sometimes faintly mauve-tinged when young, and small black anthers.
They are fully to half hardy. They will require a rich soil that is kept moist, but it is well drained. They should be grown in full sun, but the roots will require shade and protection from too much heat.
Ground cover, wall or trellis, ornamental.
