Pincushion cactus


Mammillaria gracilis (Pincushion cactus). A cactus producing cylindrical bright green stems to 4cm and white woolly areoles and brownish spines. Yellowish-white flowers to 1.5cm are produced from spring to summer. From Mexico. Frost tender.


They are frost-tender cacti's they require full sun for maximum flowering. They are easy to grow, and prefer light, sandy soil. You can propagate from seeds in the spring and summer, or from offsets in summer.

Interest and use

Grown for their funnel-shaped flowers.
