This grower is sure of this plant identification.
It's currently growing all too happily on my green roof, and not so happily in my border even though in the border I have it in a gravelly mound. So it really wants to be very very well drained.
Dryas × suendermannii. This cross between Dryas octopetala and D. drummondii bears slightly nodding yellow flowers. Grows to about 15cm tall and is of garden origin.
