Stapelia variegata (Star flower). This is a clump-forming, succulent with toothed grey green stems which are mottled purple. In early summer, cymes of funnel-shaped, dark brown-red flowers are produced.


They are frost-tender species with full sun or partial-shade with moderately fertile, very well-drained soil. Propagation is from seeds or stem cuttings in the spring or summer.
