Cream margined form of Hosta Halcyon. Stable and vigorous. Emerges with bright gold margins that fade to parchment white. A most striking and effective plant, for container or border.
Plantain Lily 'First Frost'
Hosta ‘First Frost’ (Plantain Lily 'First Frost'). This Hosta is a sport of ‘Halcyon’ and has heart-shaped leaves with blue-green centres and yellow margins, which fade to white as the season progresses. Trumpet shaped flowers in pale lavender are produced in July to August.
Plants prefer moist conditions and being out of strong sunlight. Thicker leaves grant more protection against slugs and snails, but it still pays to be vigilant early in the season.
Grown mainly for foliage but also has attractive flowers. Grow in the border and a good container plant.
