Taxus baccata (Yew). This is a slow-growing evergreen conifer which has been a foundation planting in formal gardens for generations. This native tree is often kept clipped and grown as a tall evergreen hedge.

They are fully to frost-hardy and will tolerate a wide range of conditions, which include heavy shade and chalky soils. However, they will grow well in rich soil that is well drained and has full sun exposure. Watch out for the poisonous leaves and seeds. Prune in late summer.

Anything as long as it isn't a garden thug. When in the garden centre I tend to be drawn to perennials and shrubs but would like to swap annuals and maybe an easycare tender plant - if there is such a thing. Contact me to see what I have because I have a constant supply of plants and you never know, I might have just what you are looking for.
