Aloysia triphylla (Lemon verbena). This is a tender perennial with an open habit which is grown for its aromatic foliage and sprays of tiny white or purple flowers. The leaves are glossy green, lance-shaped and rough in texture and will release a sweet lemon scent when bruised.


Cut out any dead wood in the early summer.
