Plant Finder: about Narcissus canaliculatus

Common names

Narcissus canaliculatus (Daffodil). Grows to 20cm with narrow erect leaves, glaucous and striate. It has small flowers with white segments and a deep yellow corona.

They are usually fully hardy and prefer a sunny position, or light shade with well drained soil. Dead-head flowers straight away and you can remove foliage during mid or late summer. Plant bulbs at one-and-a-half times their own depth in autumn, slightly deeper in light soils and in grass.

Interest and use

Grown for their ornamental flowers. Bulbs and leaves are poisonous if eaten.
